Prenatal Breastfeeding Class
Everything you need to prepare you for breastfeeding your new baby!
This interactive breastfeeding class answers all your questions about breastfeeding~ learn everything you would in an in-person class but from the comfort of your own home! Taught by Rachael Birkenhauer, Certified Lactation Counselor. This class takes approximately 45 mins to complete and explores:
- Your first hour with baby

- The first latch
- Positions
- Hand expression
- Is baby getting enough? Diaper expectations
- Benefits of breastmilk
- When to call for support
The American Academey of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that breastfeeding continue for at least 12 months, and thereafter for as long as mother and baby desire. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends continued breastfeeding for up to two years of age or beyond.
For optimal breastfeeding outcomes, prenatal education is essential to reaching your goals!

Rachael Birkenhauer is a Certified Lactation Counselor and a mother of two. Following her passion for helping families through their breastfeeding journey, she began her lactation education in 2004. Shortly after her certification she opened a Private Practice in Wilmington, North Carolina. Providing education, counseling and support, she is passionate about normalizing breastfeeding and ensuring support for all families.
